Description: Miscellaneous correspondence and ephemera of Milwaukee (Wis.) historian and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Milwaukee State Teachers College history professor, who has served on numerous boards and committees on state and local history, with the bulk relating to the Milwaukee Public Museum. Of special interest is 3 cubic feet of research material for his doctoral dissertation (unpub. Mss # 58 & 58A); "Milwaukee Socialists 1897-1941" (1952), including clippings, notes, correspondence, articles, a few photographs, bibliography and research material on prominent Milwaukee socialists such as Victor L. Berger; Frederic F. Heath; Daniel W. Hoan; Emil Seidel (George L.); Jake F. Friedrick; Carl F. Zeidler; and Frank P. Zeidler. On microfilm # 522 are numerous clippings and note cards on Milwaukee socialists.
